Our Six-Step Guide to a Successful Job Interview

For most of us as we actually land the work interview, the journey already seems full and we are only waiting to see what time they want us to start our first day. However, you have to realise that your future boss would be recruiting a dozen or so equally committed applicants. What training you do now will make the difference as to whether you're recruited or filed.

That's why work interview coaching is critical. You need to start anew after you have figured out that you've been given an interview to start a whole new phase to ensure sure you nail the interview and land the position. But lets face it, you've worked so long to get the job interview in the first place to just turn all the hard work away by not training.

Here are six measures that we hope can help you plan and ace the interview:

First Phase - Analysis

Research related facts regarding the firm and the way they conduct their interviews. Good sources to collect knowledge from are:

• • • •

Their annual reports Their press releases (go to Google News and type in their business name) "About Us" (or equivalent) portion on their webpage, Anybody you meet who works or has worked for them. With this detail, you'll have a clearer image of the business and help you plan for the employer interview questions.

Second Phase - Practice

Now that you have completed your homework, it's time to practice answering queries. The easiest approach to achieve this is by having career interview coaching. The explanation is that a coach can not only offer you directions in structuring your responses, they will also help you develop your verbal speaking skills and most significantly improve your morale.

Job interview coaching not only provides you with regular interview issues; it will also help you tackle the difficult questions that certain managers want to use to assess how you cope with pressure scenarios. Keep in mind that there are online sources for work interview coaching now that provide you with cheaper alternatives to face to face coaching, such as telephone coaching or interview coaching via DVD and online recording.

Third Phase - Delivery

This is where the study, coaching and practise come into action. If you've taken the steps above and invested in career interview coaching so you should have no problems nailing the interview and securing the work. Just note, be optimistic without being cocky, be organized without talking like a robot, and most of all relax and take your time.

Fourth Stage - Impression

First impressions really last and the way you look or conduct yourself can influence the whole course of the interview. Keep in mind that you just have one chance at doing it right and other people are already in line for the same work that you're involved in.

Present yourself as the right nominee by laughing, have a firm handshake, and make eye contact with the interviewers. You can dress to impress, the maxim that it's often easier to be over dressed than under dressed is especially applicable when it comes to work interviews. Be sure to make a good first impression or your job interview will end before it has even begun.

Fifth Phase - Communication

Do note that you are talking to an individual who could become your potential employer, so becoming anxious or awkward may come back to haunt you. Engage the interviewer by answering insightful staff interview questions and demonstrating your passion and interest for the work. Take your time, deliberate before you talk and please be frank.

Sixth Phase - Follow Up

In the modern work sector, some companies get thousands of applications for each job they write. A short email or phone follow up or "thank you for your time" response will split you for the herd. Often, whether you get the work or not, it will be advisable to get business cards of the interviewer(s) and all the individuals you met along the route.

We hope these moves help you land your dream career!
